Experimenting…

Well, I bought a wireless router today, and in testing it, decided to write a blog post about it from my iPaq. The page format on iPaq is terrible, but my wireless works! In the living room, no less!

Week in quotes, week 2…

This isn’t as many quotes, but it is a good one… I’ll have a lot more to post later when things settle down…

Francis: My mom saw someone get hit by the mall, and…

Me: *snickers*

[Everyone turns in class and looks]

Me: Sorry… I just pictured the mall getting up off its foundations and smacking someone…

~Sunday school, 7/23

“I have chronic connect the dots disorder. My thoughts are random dots, and I spend all my time connecting them. Problem is, when I’m done there’s no real picture…” ~Me to my mother at Cheesecake Factory.

“I think so, Brain, but platypus aren’t indigenous to Antarctica.” ~In response to Jenn saying “Are you thinking what I’m thinking, Pinky?”

Andrew’s Week in Quotes…

This is the beginning of a new humorous series that will hopefully give me something to write about more often in shorter form. Basically, it’s just random things that I’ve said over the course of the week.

“Great, now I’m picturing Mr. Potato Head wearing fishnets.” ~Promptly after hearing a joke about how to tell which potato’s the prostitute (The one that says “I-da-ho potato”)…

“She’s about as awkward as a duck in a platypus beauty contest.”
~Something I said. Need I say more?

*UPDATED*

Two more quotes…

“Everyone knows how easy it is to predict the weather in Oregon. It’s like reading Japanese textbooks in French class.”
~Me, in regards to the weather.

“Some of it looks interesting, but to me it has “Virtual Boy” written all over it…”
~In regards to the upcoming Nintendo Wii

Hahaha… Moron.

So, I’d been looking to get a copy of Kingdom HEarts for Playstation 2, and I had been trolling through eBay. During the hunt, I stumbled across this listing, and to be honest, I haven’t laughed so hard in quite a while.

The listing, you will note, is for a brand new, unopened copy of Kingdom Hearts, complete with free shipping if you use the buy-it-now button. Sounds great, right?

Well, if that sounds great, examine a little closer. If you still don’t get why I’m laughing, I’ll tell you why you’re getting duped.

If you examine the item that she has pictured, it is indeed a copy of Kingdom Hearts. And it is, indeed, unopened. But note the red border at the top of the box, inside which you’ll also note the words “Greatest Hits”. For those who aren’t familiar with how console games work, after they’ve sold “X” quantity, they get the “Greatest Hits” treatment, which basically means, you can pick it up at any store in America for 19.99 or less, depending on if there’s a sale, so in essence the woman’s gouging you for 10.00. Free shipping my eye.

Let’s look at it another way. Say you make an offer of regular price to her for it at 19.99 and she accepts. You wind up paying 7.70 for shipping (Another rip off for other reasons we won’t go into). After the shipping, you’d be paying 2.30 less than you would if you’d used Buy it Now with “free” shipping.

Additionally, check out her other items for auction. It seems in additions to selling 20.00 games for 30.00 with free shipping, our good buddy here also likes selling haunted dolls. You heard right, haunted dolls.

On second thought, don’t let me buy your copy of Kingdom Hearts, lady… I’d rather go to EB Games where I’m sure that I won’t need tocall an exocist before I play it…
