Getting known and knowing others…

Now that we have a few comics under our belt here (I’ve just finished up on lucky comic #13 – for next Thursday), I decided it was time to get our comic out there where others could find it.  So I submitted to The Webcomic List and I’m getting ready to submit to some other aggregation sites as well.  But I keep getting distracted by all the other amazing webcomics out there that I’m finding as I browse the The Webcomic List, Top Web Comics, and other such sites.  Let’s just say they’re doing a good job of advertising their comics.  I ended up spending time with Wire Heads, College Roomies from Hell, Dueling Analogs, Asianosity, and The Outer Circle.

I’ve also come to realize that I may need to create some banner ads.  With at least The Outer Circle and Dueling Analogs, it was their banners on The Webcomic List that led me to them.  Well, time for me to do some more work on my own webcomic so that I won’t be stressed too hard during these holidays by worrying about getting a strip out on time.

The Inevitable…

So you find a new webcomic and start reading and reading…and, if it’s a good one you get hooked and you keep reading every chance you get.  Then, the inevitable happens…you reach the end.  But, unlike a book, you’re just at the end of what’s been created so far.  There will be more content and, of course, the last page you happened to read was in the middle of a story arc so now you’re on a cliff hanger.  That’s what happened to me with Megatokyo.  I haven’t read it for past two to three years because Piro’s ridiculous inability to post updates on time frustrated the heck out of me.  I wanted to find out what was going on and I was sucked into his story.  Eventually I gave up.  And now I’ll have to start reading again from the beginning because there’s no way I’m going to remember all the subplots that were going on at the time.

And now it just happened to me with Masago.  At least he has been pretty consistent with his updating (even if he has tamped it down to two times a week).  His posts have been mentioning more and more of “real life” taking him away from being able to do the comic.  That’s really a shame because he has so many unresolved plots going on right now.  (At least two or three) so I hope he keeps it up.  And I hope he publishes some more compilation books because I’ll be picking them up to help support him.
