Got my first spam comment today. I consider this to be a good thing because it means my webcomic has been “discovered”. If the spambots can’t find it, then probably neither can you. So, while spam is annoying, akismet does a really good job of keeping it away from the readers and I get the satisfaction of being discovered.

This is similar to what I once read about snail mail spam. If you ever stop getting credit card solicitations you need to be worried because it means they don’t think you’re worth sending one to (and they send them to everyone!). So if that happens to you, make sure you check your credit right away!
